Barn Conversion in Eynsham, Oxfordshire.
We started this barn conversion project backing onto a busy main road in Eynsham in December 2019.
It’s a tricky build, with part of the building below road level, so we had to install a water proof walling system before the main stonework could be built. Tim already had a lovely design, featuring Cotswold stone walls and oak cladding with a Welsh slate roof. It’s traditional in feel but contemporary in design, with interior exposed oak beams and large feature windows and doors.
A week of wet weather during December held up work a bit, but we factor those things into our timescales. We made a great start, but no matter how good your time management is, nobody foresaw a global pandemic, so we’re now on hold until lockdown is lifted.
The build will finish in late summer 2020 (coronavirus allowing) and Tim has already commissioned us to for the landscaping works required to finish off the build – planting, seeding, turfing and paving of the courtyard between the barn and the annexe.

“Having worked with Darren and his team on our driveway and garage projects we found his team’s straightforward, pragmatic and transparent approach refreshing, so we felt very confident selecting New Home Improvement Group to deliver phase 2 of our barn conversion. We are currently two thirds of the way through the project ahead of schedule, despite the challenging climate, and on-budget. We’re very happy with all works completed to date and the overall management of the project”
